This 1974 Porsche 914-6 tribute was a long project but it is finally done and well sorted, we started with a rust free 1974,the inner rockers even looked new, we also source a 2.7 air cooled six, upon inspection we were delighted to find Nakisil cylinders and 8.5-1 Mahle pistons in fairly new condition, we freshened up the 911S heads and installed 911 sc cam shafts, fitted weber 40mm IDA carbs, and a triad duel exhaust, resealed the engine added 911 carrera chain tensioners and mounted a Patrick Motorsports engine mount, a alloy oil tank was fitted along with a 44 row mocal oil cooler up front (oil lines were routed through heating duct in rocker), and the battery was relocated, a centerforce clucth and light weight fly wheel were installed as was a wav trac closed differential and solid transmission mounts, new 914-6 bilstein shocks were mounted in the rear, a weltmeister adjustable sway bar was installed in front, authentic 5.5x15 fuchs alloys dated 3/67 were polished refinished and installed with new tires, new brakes along with SS brake lines were added as part of the 5 lug conversion,we repainted the car black to a very high standard replaced all body seals along with eruro lenses, we also are in the process of installing a porsche rear reflector with an auto trunk release to replace the one in the pictures, the interior was redone with new carpets seat covers, gauges were sent to palo alto speedo to be reconditioned, and we had a 916 fuel gauge made out of an oil oil pressure gauge to fit in the center console ($500.00) ouch, there are no dash cracks or puffy sun visors (they are new), car runs drives extremely well it is not temperamental at all, it does leak a few drops of oil when sitting (at 2.7 does not), this car is extremely fast and needs to driven with caution yet can tool around town very docile like at 2000-4000 rpm, it sounds great especially when you get on it. It the ultimate sleeper and head turner.
