Vehicle Description/Comments |
Chevrolet introduced the Blazer name back in 1969 with a very utilitarian sport utility built on a shortened version of its full-size four-wheel-drive pickup platform. Then when Chevy introduced it's first compact sport utility in 1983, the Blazer name was used yet again. For years the two differently sized vehicles were sold side by side at dealerships around the country, commonly referred to as the full-size K-Blazer and the compact S-Blazer. It was in 1995, when the Blazer was redesigned, that the name was applied exclusively to this compact sport-utility vehicle. (The full-size K-Blazer was later redesigned and dubbed "Tahoe.") For 1997, a sporty ZR2 version of the two-door joins the lineup, while the full-time four-wheel-drive option available on the LT 4-door now includes four-wheel disc brakes.
