The 1996 Dodge Caravan is available in six models: Caravan (base), SE and LE, each with either a short (Caravan) or long (Grand Caravan) wheelbase. All models have dual airbags, 1997 side-impact protection, an anti-lock brake system (ABS), removable rear seats with wheels, and child safety locks. Standard engines range from a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder on the base model to a 3.3-liter V6 on the LE. An ES decor package is optional on LE models, and a Sport decor package is optional on the Caravan SE. A unique driver's-side sliding rear door is also available.
